The battery storage project in Diespeck, in the Neustadt - Bad Windsheim district, has an output of 20.7 MW and a large storage capacity of 24 MWh. Samsung SDI battery cells are used. The battery storage system is used to provide system services (in particular primary control power), as well as to generate revenue from optimization on the spot market and avoided network charges (§ 18 StromNEV) and is connected to the N-Ergie Netz GmbH network. The plant, which was completed and put into operation in 2022, was sold to VERBUND and has been operated by them ever since.
